The Soldotna High School baseball team would like to thank all of our supporters, the staff of Soldotna High School, Soldotna Little League, the community and all of the players and their families.
We had a great year and qualified for the state of Alaska playoffs with a good showing in the games. The players played with a pride and sportsmanship that was commendable. Although the team is young, with the leadership of our seniors, Larsen Kohler and Ethan Waters, the team came together for a 5-win and 1-loss season in conference games. The young men worked hard and had a strong commitment to the program.
I would like to thank the following sponsors: AAA Subaru, Country Liquor, Crane & Associates, Edward Jones (Ryan Kapp), Gagnon & Sons, Homer Electric, Peninsula Oilers, KPB Maintenance Department, McDonald's, VFW-Cooties and the Ladies Auxiliary, Pony Espresso, Alaska Peace Officers Association, Soldotna Elks, Soldotna Y Chevron, Spenard Builders Supply, Tesoro Alaska and Wells Fargo.
Thanks to the support from our community, we will be back next year with more players and the desire and commitment for another great season with the goal of returning to the state playoffs.
I personally would like to thank Michael Griffin, Shannon Kohler, Greg Kohler, Terry Tobias, Dave Westerman and Lesley Quelland. Without their endless hours of help, there would be no Soldotna High School baseball team.
