ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An 11-year-old girl was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a man who pulled her into his pickup truck, Anchorage police said.
The girl was walking alone in the city's Mountain View neighborhood Saturday evening when the man stopped his truck and offered her a ride. When she refused, he grabbed her, pulled her into the truck and drove to a remote wooded area where he assaulted her, police said.
The girl managed to run away from the man. She was helped by a passing motorist who drove her home.
Investigators say the suspect is a white male in his 50s with short, gray hair. He was driving an older model, light blue pickup truck with damage and rust on the driver's side.
