NOTES: Last year's race was one of the most-memorable of the season because it marked the first return of the sport to the same track where Dale Earnhardt was killed five months earlier on the final lap of the Daytona 500. His son highlighted the return with a stirring victory. ... Rain is forecast for the race. ... This race requires the use of a speed-reducing restrictor plate to keep cars from becoming airborn during a crash. Earnhardt Jr. has picked up where is father left off by dominating restrictor plate events, winning three of the last four.
