Expedition with God planned

Kenai Christian Church will have its vacation Bible school Sunday through July 12 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Ages birth through sixth grade will take "an expedition with the one, true God" with the Amazon Outfitters. Dr. George Braswell, professor of missions and world religions, will lead the adults classes. His first topic will be "The Four Faces of Islam," about America before and after the terrorist attacks and the Christian response.

Grace Lutheran plans Bible school

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold a vacation Bible school Monday through July 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme will be "Extra! Extra! Read all about God's good news!" There will be theme-related stories, music, crafts, games and snacks. For more information, call 283-7888.

Religious poetry sought

A $1,000 grand prize is being offered in a special religious poetry contest sponsored by the New Jersey Rainbow Poets, free to anyone who has ever written a poem. There are 50 prizes in all totaling almost $5,000. The deadline for entering is Aug. 2.
