Oilers stung with loss

The Peninsula Oilers suffered their third straight defeat Monday, dropping a 14-7 decision to the Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks at Growden Memorial Park in Fairbanks.

The Oilers led the game early as Nick Kliebert hit a three-run home run and Peninsula built a 6-1 lead.

However, the Panners responded with a nine-run fifth inning.

In Sunday's game, the Oilers suffered a 6-0 loss. The Goldpanners struck for four runs in the fourth inning on a two-run triple by Quinn Stewart and a two-run home run by Matt Lane.
