New organization bowled over by support

Matti's Farm, a new non-profit through Bridges Community Network, was absolutely bowled over by strong community support during our recent raffle fundraiser. Many people did so much to help make the raffle a success, but we would especially like to thank the President of the Kenai Peninsula Bed and Breakfast Association, John Steckel, for his tireless efforts and warm heart. We also extend a deep appreciation to the following Bed and Breakfast Association business owners, who took the time out of their busy summer schedule to sell raffle tickets for Matti's Farm: Forrest and Oscar Nelson at A River's Edge B&B, Richard and Uta Thomas at Alaskan Serenity B&B, George and Tina Showalter at Blonde Bear B&B, Kevin and Valerie Morin at Bridgekeepers Inn, John and Ardee Buckman at Buckmans B&B of Alaska, Gary Katsion and Geoffery Katsion of the Clam Gulch Lodge, Carrol and JoAnne Martin of the Diamond M Ranch B&B, Kathleen and Gary Foster of Foster Landing B&B, Bob and Dot May of Gallery Lodge, Diana Lofstedt of Harborside Cottages, Dick and Stephanie Erkeneff at Kenai River Raven, Chuck and Leora Gibbons of Longmere Lake Lodge B&B, Kathy Carlisle of Ocean Bluff B&B, John and Jacquie Steckel of Red Cabin B&B, Steve and Monika Anderson of Soldotna B&B Lodge, Chris and Delora Garcia of Tanglewood B&B, Heidi and Wayne Wong of The Moose Is Inn, and Bob and Gail Knobf of Tundra Bob's Cabin.

We would also like to heartily thank these businesses and individuals who sold raffle tickets for Matti's Farm: Liz Chase of BEACH'M Fishery, Rose and Randy Penner of Silvertip Net and Gear, Angela Richie of Country Financial, and Frank and Debbie Kassik's Brew Stop. We were also so grateful to those who donated the raffle prizes. The first prize was a freezer full of meat, and we would like to thank Mike and Liz Chase of BEACH'M Fishery for donating a large amount of delicious salmon, Glen Burkhart of F/V Tribute for the large amount of halibut, and the Martin Family of Diamond M Ranch Resort for the beef. Kathy Carlisle of Ocean Bluff B&B kindly donated the freezer for the frozen goods. The second prize, a greenhouse, was donated by Alaskan Grown and Ridgeway Farms, and the third prize was a fishing trip donated by High Adventure Air. We can't thank you all enough for your generous gifts. To all those who helped but were not included in this letter, please know that we appreciate you so much and are so grateful for all that you do. Thanks to your amazing efforts, the raffle fundraiser pulled in over $5,500.00, all of which will be put right back into our community as we reach out to at-risk young people in our area and help give them a good strong future. Thank you for partnering with us.

First prize full freezer was won by Jeanne Hall from Soldotna, Second prize Green House was won by David Truitt from Anchorage and Gloria Maidens, visiting from Michigan won the third prize Fishing Trip.
