FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A tanker truck overturned near Summit Lake on Thursday and spilled about 200 gallons of diesel fuel, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
DEC spokesman Charles Fedullo said the spill was contained in a ditch near the lake and a cleanup crew was responding.
Summit Lake is along the Richardson Highway just north of Paxson.
The tanker belonged to Columbus Distributing Co., a diesel-fuel company based in Anchorage.
Jerry Garcia, a Columbus dispatcher, said the tanker was headed to a Delta Junction gas station with about 2,500 gallons of fuel.
Another tanker was sent to collect fuel in the overturned tanker, Garcia said.
