A 21-year-old man and his 19-year-old girlfriend have been indicted for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl in Tyonek in June.
On Friday, a Kenai grand jury indicted Gregg William McCord, 21, of Tyonek, on two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse.
Tricia Chuitt, 19, of Tyonek, was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of third-degree sexual abuse.
On June 26, McCord and Chuitt were drinking and took the 13-year-old girl to an unoccupied teachers’ housing unit, according to court documents. McCord and Chuitt, however, are not teachers and were just taking advantage of an empty space, said Sgt. Dane Gilmore of Alaska State Troopers.
The 13-year-old told authorities McCord and Chuitt undressed her and had intercourse in front of her, and McCord then had intercourse with her.
A forensic examination conducted on June 26, found injuries consistent with the 13-year-old’s account of the events.
McCord and Chuitt are both being held at the Wildwood Pretrial Facility.
Chuitt’s bail has been set at $20,000. Bail for McCord has been set at $75,000.
