Dogs to strut their stuff in shows

The Kenai Kennel Club will host American Kennel Club agility, conformation, obedience and rally shows at 9 a.m. today, Saturday and Sunday at Skyview High School on the Sterling Highway. Events generally run until mid afternoon.

Spectators are encouraged to come, but bring seating and be prepared for inclement weather. Only dogs entered are allowed on the grounds. For more information, call the kennel club at 335-2552 and leave a message.

Boyle fundraiser slated

A fundraiser to benefit Gabe Boyle will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Homer Electric Association parking lot, 280 Airport Way in Kenai. A yard sale, bake sale, carwash and bucket truck rides are some of the planned events. Gabe is a 10-year-old Kenai youth who is undergoing chemotherapy treatments for leukemia in Seattle.

Frontier World Series scheduled

Frontier Community Services has scheduled its annual World Series baseball event for noon Saturday at the Kenai Little League field. FCS provides support to individuals of all ages with disabilities. For more information, call 262-6331.

Cheerleading camp planned

The Soldotna High School cheerleaders will host a cheerleading camp for girls in grades kindergarten through 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 15 at Soldotna High School.

The cost is $25. Participants need to bring a sack lunch. Registration forms are available at AK Hair Salon and The Fitness Place in Soldotna and the Boys and Girls Club in Kenai. Space is limited to the first 75. For more information, call 262-2960 or at 260-6164 after 5 p.m.
