Performance, donations to food bank appreciated

Posted: Tuesday, July 07, 2009

The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank would like to thank jaime michaels for his wonderful performance at the Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center on June 22. We would also like to thank those who attended and donated five pounds of food or made a cash donation.

The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank has been serving the community for 20 years and takes its mission of "We feed people because no one deserves to be hungry" very seriously. Without the support of the community and generous partners like jaime michaels the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank would not be able to help the amount of people that we do. Last month we provided USDA Commodity foods to over 700 households here on the Kenai Peninsula! In 2008, the average number per month was 551. That is a 30 percent increase in households seeking assistance!

We look forward to jaime michaels return to the peninsula.

Thank you for your generous contributions to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. Please visit our Web site at or contact me for more information.
