The visiting Peninsula Oilers lost 12-2 to the first-place Mat-Su Miners on Monday in Alaska Baseball League action.
Oilers pitchers gave up 12 hits, six walks and two hit batters on the day.
Scott Snodgress started for the Oilers and took the loss. He pitched 2 2-3 innings, giving up five earned runs on three hits while walking five.
Tom Briner came on in relief and yielded five runs -- four earned -- and six hits in 2 1-3 innings. Nick Loredo finished up and gave up two runs in three innings.
R.L. Eisenbach got the win for the Miners, going six innings and giving up an earned run on four hits. The run off Eisenbach was a first-inning home run by Shayne Willson, who was later ejected from the game for arguing balls and strikes.
Jonathan Cisneros led the Miners offense by going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs. Also for the Miners, James Ramsey had two runs, two hits and two RBIs, Shane Brown had two runs, Nice Croce had two RBIs and Nick Cox had three runs and two hits.
The Miners now lead the league with a 14-6 record, while the Oilers sit five games back with a 8-11 record. The same two teams play tonight at 7 p.m. The game can be heard on 1140 AM.
The Oilers had just five hits in the game. Michael Miller, who scored the Oilers other run, had two of those hits.
Chris Ellison and Caleb Bushyhead added hits for the Oilers.
