Posted: Sunday, July 08, 2001

The American Legion Post 20 Twins baseball team opened the BP Tournament in Anchorage with a tough 6-5 loss to Service Friday, but rebounded with a 16-6 drubbing of Chugiak Saturday.

The Twins lost to an all-star team from Gig Harbor, Wash., 6-3 at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage in the late game Saturday.

The tournament concludes today with playoffs and a championship game. Post 20 will be playing for fifth place in the 12:45 p.m. game.

The Twins scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning and took a slim 5-4 lead into the seventh and final inning of play in Friday's game.

The Cougars plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh to steal the win, though.
