Drivers need to be aware of bicyclists, pedestrians

Posted: Friday, July 08, 2005

On June 26, I rode my bicycle on Funny River Road in the morning, when I was almost hit head-on by a driver going much too fast around a curve in the road.

This was the third time in the past four weeks I have experienced close calls. The others occurred on our wonderful bike trail, by drivers who aren't paying attention at busy pullouts.

Many of us are using the roads and the bike trail (especially children). Please take the time to remember that.

Thank you.
