Postal employee, reporter to blame for tie controversy

Posted: Friday, July 08, 2005

In response to the article dated July 7 by Mark Quiner titled, "Fit to be tied": 1) Steve Adams, postal employee with 10 years service, should never have started going against the dress code; 2) Postmaster Margaret Merrill should have put a stop to it in the beginning; and 3) Mark Quiner didn't need to stir up an in-house problem with the public.

Now that it's out in the open, what do we do about it? 1) No more articles on the matter; 2) Postmaster Margaret should start doing the job she was hired to do; and 3) Steve Adams, you knew better — start dressing according to the code.

Let's all keep a positive attitude toward what's going on in our wonderful community.
