Soldotna police are investigating two separate reports of sexual abuse of minors, which occurred July 4.

An 18-year-old male reportedly has admitted to having sexual intercourse with one of the victims. Charges have not yet been filed.

On Tuesday, police were called by the mother of a 15-year-old female and were asked to talk to the girl about consuming alcohol and sneaking out of the house at night.

The mother told police the girl had left the house at about 3 a.m. July 4 to attend a party with some friends, and the girl later said she drank alcohol at the party.

The mother and daughter came to the Soldotna Police Department on Tuesday evening, and during an interview, the girl reported she had engaged in consensual sexual intercourse with the 18-year-old man.

Police informed the mother, who requested the male be charged with sexual abuse of a minor.

The man was contacted and interviewed, according to police, and admitted to having sexual intercourse with the girl.

The case is being forwarded to the district attorney, police said.

On Wednesday, a 16-year-old female told Soldotna police she was sexually assaulted by a 16-year-old male behind the Safeway store between 10 and 11 p.m. July 4.

The girl told police the boy, who she knows, had alcohol on his breath and appeared to be intoxicated.

She said he attempted to kiss her several times, fondled her breasts, exposed himself to her and attempted to pull her pants down.

The girl said she hit the boy with her fist and was able to get away from him.

Police are investigating the incident.
