Former Kenai resident Rafael Akeo Purugganan, died July 5, 2010, in a car accident in Wailuku, Hawaii. He was 39.
A celebration of life will be held at later date.
Purugganan was born Aug. 26, 1970, in Clover City, Calif., to Eustazio P Purugganan and Tomasa Dominguez-Puruggann, He attended Kenai Central High School. Rafael worked as a kitchen manager at The Beach Bum Restaurant in Maui, Hawaii.
Purugganan was proceeded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his father; siblings Enrique Purugganan, his wife, Cheyenne Meyer and their children, JB and Steven Aguerre and CheyLee and Siera Purugganan; and Juan-Pablo Purugganan, all of Kenai; uncles, Pete Purugganan and Eddie Silbolboro; and aunt, Lenny Benlehr.
