Kirk Russell Evans
Sterling resident Kirk Russell Evans died Monday, June 12, 2006, at the Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn. He was 53.
A celebration of his life was held June 24 at New Life Assembly of God Church in Cokato, Minn.
Mr. Evans was a tool and die maker and a private pilot in Minnesota for many years before moving to Alaska in 2003. “Kirk loved Alaska and called it home. He also loved his many friends and employer Dukowitz Machine of Nikiski,” his family wrote.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Evans, and mother, Anna Mae Evans.
He is survived by his wife, Ann, of Sterling; daughter, Sarah Evans Lester, of Cokato, Minn.; sons, Brandon, of Badger, Iowa and Ryan and Christopher, of Lake Park, Minn.; sister, Jill Mellem, of Northwood, Iowa,; brother, Mike, of Northwood; and five grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Eding, Minn.
