Chambers set schedules

Murkowski, Begich to hold mobile office visits

U.S. Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Mark Begich announced that members of their staffs will visit the communities of Seward, Moose Pass, Cooper Landing, Kenai, Soldotna, Ninilchik and Homer, Monday through July 17.

Congressional staff hold mobile office hours in Alaska in order to meet with constituents and community leaders. During their mobile office hours, staff from each office will be available to take casework requests and listen to constituent concerns about issues related to the federal government. Information gathered by staff will be directed to Sens. Murkowski and Begich as well as to the appropriate federal agencies to resolve concerns raised by Alaskans.

The dates and locations of the mobile office are as follows: Monday at the Seward Post Office from noon to 4 p.m.; Tuesday at the Moose Pass Post Office from 10 a.m. to noon and from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Cooper Landing Post Office; Wednesday at the Kenai Post Office from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Soldotna Post Office; July 16 at the Ninilchik Post Office from 9 a.m. to noon; and July 17 at the Homer Post Office from 9 a.m. to noon.

Marketing to be discussed

The Alaska Small Business Development Center will hold the "Ten Golden Rules of Marketing" seminar from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Juxly 22 at its office in Suite 12 at the Red Diamond Center on Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Solar tour set to shine

An Alaska Solar Tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 15. It is a free self directed tour of homes and businesses in the community showcasing renewable energy features. Maps will be available a week before the event.

The tour is a presentation of ACAT; a non profit organization promoting education and research in the application of technology for sustainable living in Alaska since 1993. The tour is organized in conjunction with the American Solar Energy Society
