Seniors plan events

Soldotna Senior Citizens Center will host a bazaar, bake sale and quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 24 and 25 at the center. There will be a selection of crafts, baked goods and quilts. Lunch will be available.

The center's Endowment Trust Funds' will host a chili cook-off from 1 to 3:30 p.m. July 25 at the center. To participate or for more information, call 262-2322.

Chamber seeks vendors and parade entries

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce is taking applications for the Progress Days parade and vendor spaces. Progress Days is scheduled for July 25 and 26.

The deadline for vendor forms is July 17. Spaces are $35 each. Forms received after July 17 will cost $45 each. Call 262-9814 for more information.

Teens seek employment

The Soldotna High School football players are seeking jobs to help send players to summer football camps. To schedule an appointment, call Lauri Lingafelt at 398-4298.

Football camp planned

The Kenai Peninsula Youth Football camp will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at Soldotna High School.

The cost of the camp is $50 per player.

The camp is open to all youth football players up to eighth grade. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the SoHi pool side entrance. Call Galen Brantley for more information at 398-8862 or e-mail gbrantley@kpbsd.k12.ak.us.

FASD workshop set

There will be a community workshop on practical life-planning for kids and adults with FASD, presented by Philip Mattheis and Deb Evensen from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 20 at Cottonwood Clinic. SoHi's class reunion looms

Soldotna High School 20th class reunion will be held July 24 through 26. Classmates are asked to RSVP to Barb at barbshipps@hotmail.com.

The cost is $60 per adult for the weekend. Children are free to the family picnic on Sunday. A meet and greet will be held at The Duck Inn Restaurant & Bar around 7 p.m. or on July 24. The restaurant side will available for those who want to visit in a smoke-free environment. The dinner evening will be July 25 at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. Anyone who can help decorate Saturday morning at 10 a.m. would be appreciated. Dinner will be catered and arrival time is 5:30 p.m. Appetizers will be served at 6 p.m. and dinner around 6:30 p.m. A DJ will play music and a no-host bar will be available. The family picnic will start at 1 p.m. July 26 at Johnson Lake's Day use facility in Kasilof. Burgers, hot dogs and soda will be provided. Graduates are asked to bring a salad, side dish, dessert or other.
