ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The Korean ambassador to the United States is in Alaska this week for speeches and meetings with Alaska business and government officials.
Yang Sang-Chul is traveling with American Ambassador to Korea Thomas Hubbard.
Gov. Tony Knowles has declared this week ''Partners for Prosperity and Friendship, Alaska-Korea Week.'' Knowles said Korea has long been an outstanding neighbor and business partner for Alaska.
Alaska exports to Korea have totaled more than $ 4 billion since 1985.
Japan is Alaska's largest trading partner.
