ANCHORAGE (AP) A woman involved in an accident that killed an Oregon man was arrested Wednesday afternoon, Anchorage police said.
Sandra S. Reyes, 22, was charged with manslaughter, felony assault and reckless driving. She was taken to the Anchorage Jail with bail set at $50,000.
Reyes was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier south Sunday night on Minnesota Drive, police said, when she apparently ignored a red light and turned into oncoming traffic at Benson Boulevard.
A Ford van driving north struck Reyes' sedan. A passenger in the sedan, Raymond D. Cansler, 53, of Portland, Ore., was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the accident, police said.
