On behalf of the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank Board of Directors and staff, I would like to thank Lindsey Clark and ConocoPhillips for the opportunity to distribute 14 USDA Commodity boxes to the elders of Tyonek last month. We were able to distribute bananas, marshmallows and brown sugar to the residents as well. One resident was so pleased to have fresh fruit he insisted on eating the banana prior to filling out any paperwork.
We want to thank especially Chief Peter Merryman for his help in assisting this project to be implemented and the driver, Ethan, who helped us deliver the boxes. The KP Food Bank looks forward to continuing this distribution project as we assist our fellow Alaskan residents especially with the assistance of ConocoPhillips.
