Quilters to gather

Stitches of Love Quilters will meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Redoubt Elementary School library.

The group is seeking donations of large pieces of quilt batting and tooth brushes and toothpaste for its Foster Kids program.

Garden club to meet

Central Peninsula Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road near the Bridge Access Road intersection.

The topic will be composts. Thom Jans and other area gardeners will share stories of their composting efforts. Annual club membership dues are $20.

Upcoming summer garden visits only will be open to paid members.

Craft sale set

The Sterling Senior Center will hold a Christmas in July craft sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Elderberry Cafe will be open and homemade goods will be available for purchase.

Football camp planned

The Kenai Peninsula Youth Football camp will be held at 9 a.m. Monday for youth up to ninth grade. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Soldotna High School pool side entrance.

Ninilchik fair seeks sponsors, gardeners

The Ninilchik State Fair is seeking volunteers to help with beautification around the grounds. Community members interested in sponsoring a flower bed, planting flowers in a wheelbarrow to display at the fair or donating transplantable annuals or perennials to the fair, call at the fair office at (907) 567-3670. Office hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The fair also is in need of wood chips to add to its poultry barn and garden beds. To donate or offer to pick up a truck load and deliver it to the fair, call the fair office.

Classes set to reunite

· Skyview High School class of 1997 will hold its 10-year reunion July 27-29. Events scheduled are: happy hour at Hooligans July 27 at 7 p.m.; dinner at Paradisos July 28 at 6 p.m.; and a family picnic at Soldotna Creek Park July 29 at noon. Everyone is invited to the picnic who attended Skyview, even if they did not graduate with the class. R.S.V.P. is required for the dinner and picnic. · Soldotna High School class of 1997 is planning a class reunion for July 27-29 at Kenai Landing. Class members are sought for updates on how they have spent the past 10 years. Cameras, photo printers sought

The Soldotna Rotary Club is seeking donations of working digital cameras and photo printers for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District's art program. Equipment may be dropped off at Sweeney's Clothing or Joe Kashi's law office.
