Carriage rides delight horse lovers

Posted: Wednesday, July 11, 2001

Like other world class tourist destinations, the Kenai Peninsula now offers horse and nostalgia lovers the joy and peace of riding in a first class horse drawn limousine.

Connie Davis of C&C Stables at Mackey Lake has been seen with her team of miniature Belgians and Canadian made carriage along the sunny streets of Soldotna recently. However, arrangements can be made with Connie and her carriage to go just about anywhere or be at any event on the Kenai Peninsula.

A life long Alaskan, Connie has had horses most of her life and also offers guided horseback rides along the Cook Inlet's sandy beaches, or through the forested trails of the Peninsula. C&C Stables is a family operation, "I think we all need to slow down once in a while, being with the horses sure brings a peacefulness to me, my children and all my family, and now I hope to bring that to visitors and all the community as well," said Connie who may be contacted at 262-5401, or Cowgal@alaska.net.
