Motorcyclist dies in head-on with pickup truck

ANCHORAGE (AP) The driver of an off-road motorcycle died of injuries sustained in an accident with a pickup truck, Alaska State Troopers said.

Nathan D. Van Horne, 22, of Anchorage, was riding his motorcycle north along a dirt trail near Palmer early Thursday morning when he collided head-on with a truck.

The truck, heading southbound along the dirt trail toward Jim Creek, was driven by Brian D. Green, age 23, of Anchorage.

A group of passers-by helped Van Horne to the beginning of the trail and he was rushed to Valley Hospital. He died at 5:25 a.m.
