Petting zoo, games, food, music water slide all part of freedom fest

Posted: Friday, July 11, 2003

The Second Annual Freedom Festival held in Sterling on July 6 was a great success. There were pony rides, a petting zoo, arcade games, a flea market, horseshoe tournaments, food, music and the main attraction, a 110-foot water slide.

Attendance was estimated at 400-plus, and fun was had by all.

Abundant Life and Freedom Festival Committee would like to thank the following people and businesses for their generous help and donations: Birch Ridge Golf Course, Basil Bolstridge, Central Emergency Services, Forestry Division of Natural Resources, Parker and Kim Rittgers, Mom and Dad's Grocery, Cook's Corner, Moose River RV, Sterling Carquest Auto Parts, The Fishing Hole, Blockbuster Video, Longmere Lake Grocery and Liquor, Bing Brown's, Tina's, Reindeer Paws, Birchridge Community Church Band, Top Video, Signature's Salon and Arby's.

We appreciate our businesses investing in local events.
