Oilers battered by Bucs

The Anchorage Bucs defeated the Peninsula Oilers 8-3 on Monday night in Alaska Baseball League action at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage.

Oilers starter Jesse Jordan was 4-0 with a 1.78 ERA entering the game but the Bucs tagged him with the loss. Jordan lasted 3 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on 10 hits. The Bucs were on their way to getting 15 hits.

On offense, Chris Nelson continued to swing the hot bat for the Oilers, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Omar Padilla had two hits and a run, while Andy Preston also had two hits and a run. The Oilers collected eight hits in the game.

The Oilers face the Bucs again tonight at 7 p.m.
