Alaska Sprint Tour rolls into Kenai

The Alaska Sprint Tour will make its only stop of the season at Twin City Raceway in Kenai Friday for an evening of open-wheeled, winged sprint car racing.

Local drivers including Jackie McGahan, Elton McGahan and Randy Barnes will be taking on racers from around the rest of the Alaska on Twin City's three-eighths of a mile dirt track. The Outlaw sprint cars will compete in 360 and 410 divisions.

Sportsman and Late Model cars from Twin City Raceway and Capitol Speedway will put on an exhibition race during Friday's event.

Admission for the event is $10 for adults, $30 for a family pass, $7 for seniors and members of the military and $5 for children.

Gates at Twin City Raceway, located on Shotgun Drive off the Kenai Spur Highway across from Beaver Loop, open at 5 p.m. Time trials start at 6 p.m. and racing is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
