KENAI (AP) -- Alaska State Troopers have released the name of a 16-year-old Kenai boy seriously injured in a traffic accident near Cooper Landing.

Russell H. Robinson III was listed in guarded but serious condition at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage.

According to troopers, Robinson was southbound on the Sterling Highway at about 9:30 a.m. Monday when he apparently fell asleep. His vehicle went over an embankment and hit a tree.

A trooper spokesman said Robinson was fortunate that someone saw his vehicle go off the road and called for help immediately. The vehicle landed in a spot not visible from the highway and may have gone unnoticed for some time, troopers said.

Robinson was alone in the vehicle and was wearing his seat belt.
