Dog show, trials slated for weekend
The Kenai Kennel Club will host a dog show, agility trial and obedience trial today, Saturday and Sunday at Skyview High School. The events will start at 9 a.m. each day. Admission is $3 per person and $5 per car.
Red Cross offering weekly class
The Red Cross will hold its weekly basic first aid and CPR class Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kenai River Center. The cost is $65.

Kenai Eagles to host dinner
Kenai Eagles Aerie No. 3525 is having a roast beef dinner Saturday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The price is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children under age 10.
Cultural center to feature geologist
The Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center's "Science on the Kenai" program on Monday will feature Soldotna geologist Dick Reger discussing the geology of Cook Inlet. The program is free of charge and runs from 3 to 4 p.m.

Final swim sessions start Monday
The last two sessions of swimming lessons start Monday at the Kenai Central High School pool. They will run Monday through Friday for two weeks. The cost is $40. For more information, call the pool at 283-7476.
Concerts planned in Anchorage
Grandma's Hope Notes will perform musical concerts July 30 through Aug. 3 in Anchorage. The concerts are being offered for seniors and their families. For more information, call (907) 235-1491.
CPGH to offer baby-sitting course
Central Peninsula General Hospital will hold the last Safe Sitter class of the year Aug. 12 and 13. The baby-sitting course is for boys and girls ages 11 to 13. The cost is $50.
