ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A 30-year-old man was arrested Thursday for allegedly buying alcohol for teen-agers involved in Monday's fatal traffic collision with Anchorage police officer Justin T. Wollam, Anchorage police said.

Ronald Frank was arrested on seven counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of reckless endangerment, Det. Everett Robbins said in a news conference.

The early morning crash occurred when Robert M. Esper, 19, drove a Chevrolet Blazer across the median on the Glenn Highway near Fort Richardson. Killed were Wollam, 28, Esper and two passengers, Heidi Weilbacher, 14, and Makayla Lewis, 16. A third passenger, Savanah Fielding, was critically injured.

Before the crash, police had been tracking Esper as a suspected drunken driver.

Robbins said Frank knew the teens.

Frank, who was in custody Thursday evening, has admitted he bought the alcohol, Robbins said.
