Gospel singer schedules appearance at SolFirst

Grammy award-winning gospel artist Sherman Andrus will appear at Soldotna First Assembly of God at 6 p.m. Sunday. The concert is free. Andrus was an original member of the group Andre Crouch and the Disciples, a lead vocalist for the Imperials and a founding member of the group Andrus, Blackwood and Company.

Nature to be Bible school theme

The Seventh-day Adventist vacation Bible school will be Monday through July 21 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Mile 8.4 of the Kenai Spur Highway. It is for children between the ages of 4 and 14, and there will be crafts, stories, songs and guest speakers. For more information, call Marilyn at 260-5877.

Community Bible school slated in Ninilchik

An all community vacation Bible school will be held at the Lindeman residence at the dead end of Deep Creek Farm Road in Ninilchik. The classes, for ages 4 through grade eight, are Monday through July 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. For more information, call Delores Lindeman at 567-3424.

Prayer video to be shown in Kenai

"Keeping Watch," a video presentation and seminar emphasizing the importance of prayer, will be presented by Meryl Bishop, national prayer director of Stonecroft Ministries, at Kenai Grace Brethren Church, 406 McCollum Drive in Kenai Thursday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. For further information, call Carolyn at 262-4214 or Linda at 262-4996.

Vacation Bible school planned

The Soldotna Bible Chapel is sponsoring a vacation Bible school for children ages 4 to sixth grade. The program entitled "Surf'n' God's Word in Search of Truth" begins July 23 and runs until July 27. Classes will be at 301 Marydale every day at 9 a.m. Participants should bring a Bible, if they own one, and parents and friends are may attend a closing program at 11:45 a.m. July 27. Special guest featured

The public is invited to attend the "Heart of Worship Encounter" July 29 and and 30 at the Kenai New Life Assembly of God. Dr. LaMar Boschman will be the special musical guest and worship leader.
