The Kenai American Legion Post 20 Twins split a double-header with Fairbanks Wednesday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park in Kenai.
The Twins will wrap up their four-game series with the 49ers today at 3 p.m. at Seymour Park.
In the first game, the Twins pounded out 11 hits on their way to a 15-1 win in a game called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
The Twins plated six runs in the first inning and six in the third, as well as tacking on a run in the second and two in the fourth.
Luke Gilbert was 3-for-4 with three runs and two batted in for the Twins. Kevin Epperheimer was 2-for-3 with two runs and two batted in, and Jake Lamphier was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and a pair of runs batted in. Jake Bowler scored a pair of runs and was 1-for-2, as did Jordan Waters and Jake Simpson. Ethan Waters scored a run and was 1-for-2.
Shawn Isaacs picked up the win, striking out seven without issuing a walk in five innings of work. Isaacs was touched up for one run on five hits.
In the second game, a seven-inning affair, the Twins dropped a 2-1 decision. Kenai scored a run in the top of the second when Jake Simpson singled and eventually scored on a sacrifice by Lamphier for a 1-0 lead.
Fairbanks tied the game with a run in the third and took the lead with a run in the fifth.
Gilbert had a double for the Twins.
