Grief support offered
The Soldotna United Methodist Church holds a "Life Love Loss" support group from noon to 1 p.m. on the first and third Monday of the month at the church at 158 S. Binkley St.
The next meeting will be Monday. Any type of loss is open for discussion in the group. Attendees are asked to bring a brown bag lunch. For more information, call the Rev. Richard Whetsell at 262-4657.
Church conference ready to praise
The Soldotna Church of God will hold a destiny conference at 9 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday through July 22 at the church on the corner of Binkley and Redoubt streets.
Speakers from Alaska and the Lower 48 will talk. David Bishop will be the morning speaker. Youth night will be held July 18 and a concert will be held July 20. For more information on the conference and baby sitting, call 262-4729.
Gospel concert set to praise
The Funny River Bible Church will host a free open air gospel concert featuring local singers and Dan Gibson on the keyboard at 7 p.m. Friday at Mile 14 of Funny River Road, turn right onto Rabbit Run, travel 3/4 mile and turn left onto Browns Lake Road. The church is 3/4 mile on left.
Attendees are asked to dress for the weather and bring lawn chairs. A dessert social will follow. For more information, call Kurt @ 262-1721.
Community service picnic set
The Kenai Church of God will host a neighborhood picnic at 11 a.m. Sunday at the church on the corner of Kenai Spur Highway and Cook Inlet View Drive.
The outdoor service will include food, speakers and singer Cissy Padgett and her sisters from Montana. It is open to the public. For more information, call Judi Merkes at 283-4720.
