New book about Andrew Berg documents area's rich history

Summers on the Kenai remind us why we love to live, work and play here. It's a fascinating and beautiful place with a rich history.

A new terrific account of the history of our communities in the words of a Finnish immigrant has just been published and tells wonderful stories about the history of this area.

Andrew Berg, big game guide, game warden, trapper and commercial fisheries worker, kept fascinating journals and his accounts have been documented in pictures and print in "Alaska's No. 1 Guide: The History and Journals of Andrew Berg, 1869-1939." This wonderful book was written by local residents Catherine Cassidy and Gary Titus and is well worth a read.
