Have your name set in stone

The Homer Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center is offering the public an opportunity to purchase a brick that will be incorporated in the landscaping at the new center.

Soldotna seniors schedule summer bazaar, barbecue

The Soldotna Senior Citizen Center will hold a summer bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 25 and 26. Crafts, baked goods, jams and jellies will be offered. Also a display of quilts and antiques will be available for viewing.

A barbecue fund-raiser for the senior endowment fund will be from noon to 4 p.m. July 26 on Park Avenue. For more information, call 262-2322.

Help for home day-care providers offered

If you are a family day-care provider in the central peninsula area and would like to be reimbursed for part of the cost of food served, call the Child Care Food Program at 283-4707.

Kenai pool offers swim lessons

The last two swim sessions of the season will run today through July 25, with the final session running July 28 through Aug. 8. Sessions cost $40 for 10, 40-minute lessons. For more information, call 283-7476.

Soldotna chamber sets meeting

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce weekly luncheon is at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House. Jeannie Camp, economic analyst for Kenai Peninsula Borough, will be the featured speaker. For more information, call Shanon at 262-9814.

NRA to sponsor women's clinic

The National Rifle Association's Women on Target program will sponsor an instructional shooting clinic for women at the Cooper Landing Gun Club at 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. All necessary equipment will be provided by the club. The cost of attendance, which includes firearms, ammunition and targets, is $35. Participants must bring eye and ear protection. Immunization clinics in Homer scheduled

The Homer Public Health Center will hold immunization clinics from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. TB and pregnancy testing also will be available.

Vendors, parade entries sought for Progress Days

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for vendor space and parade entries for the 43rd annual Progress Days Celebration to be held July 26. The theme is "There is No Business Like Soldotna Business." For more information, call 262-9814.
