The program manager of Alaska's Medicare Information Office will give a workshop from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center.
Topics will include Part A and B coverage, switching Prescription Drug Plans, the "donut hole," financial assistance, when to enroll and more. There will be time for questions.
Attendees are asked to bring red, white and blue Medicare card and other health insurance information such as Prescription Drug Plan card or plan information, Medicare Summary Notices, and Social Security or Medicare supplement mailings.

The sixth annual Kenai/ Soldotna Unity run will be held July 18 on the Unity Trail between Kenai and Soldotna.
The event is coordinated by the Kenai, Soldotna and Kenai River Rotary clubs as a fundraiser to benefit community and international projects. The run includes a 5K and 10 mile event and is geared toward all levels of ability.

The Moosehorn Amateur Radio Club will sponsor a Hamfest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. JSaturday at the Borough Emergency Management Building on Wilson Way in Soldotna.
Amateur radio operators and the general public are invited. Tables are available to rent for radio related electronic equipment at 9 a.m. License testing will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
