Vern Shook gives Mother Nature a helping hand Wednesday afternoon in Kenai. He put a new lawn in about two weeks ago, but he said he's had a hard time getting it to take. The Kenai Peninsula has received far less precipitation than is normal in the past month, and little is expected in the coming days. Forecasters are calling for increased clouds through the weekend, with a slight chance of showers.
