ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A BP Amoco executive working in the Caribbean is the new president of Alyeska Pipeline Service Co., the pipeline consortium announced Thursday.
David Wight succeeds Bob Malone, who left Alyeska last month to become BP Amoco's regional president for the western United States in Los Angeles. The appointment was made by Alyeska's board of directors.
Wight has spent the last eight years as president of the BP Amoco Energy Co. of Trinidad and Tobago. He started his career with Amoco more than 35 years ago.
He is expected to arrive in Alaska before summer's end to start overseeing operations of Alyeska's assets, most notably the trans-Alaska oil pipeline and Valdez tanker terminal.
