Kenai resident Erline Rae Hill died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. She was 65.
No funeral services are planned.
Mrs. Hill was born Aug. 31, 1936, to Norman and Ann Heathers in Port Angeles, Wash. After attending high school in Port Angeles, she trained as a dental assistant and traveled with her first husband, who was in the Air Force. She worked in Hawaii, Virginia, Alabama and Washington.
In 1982, after she married Jim Hill, they moved to Kenai from Port Angeles.
Her hobbies included fishing, cooking and gardening.
"She had a gift for making people feel accepted and very welcome as she enjoyed having friends," her family said.
She is survived by her husband, James R. Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Randy and Cindy Simmons of Port Angeles; daughter and son-in-law, Vince and Brodie Matthews of Tulsa, Okla.; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Julie and Dean Matsuoka of Hawaii; daughter, Karen Danz of Tulsa; stepson, Jim Hill Jr. of Kenai; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
