Soldotna resident Keith Reineking died Monday, June 26, 2006, at the Heritage Place in Soldotna. He was 67.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at the American Legion Post No. 20 in Kenai. Military honors will be performed by the American Legion Post 20 and the VFW Post No. 10046. A gathering will immediately followed the service.
Mr. Reineking was born March 20, 1939, to Ed and Doris Reineking in Hampton, Wash. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1966 until he was honorably discharged. Mr. Reineking became a resident of Alaska in 1991, first living in Anchorage, where he was employed by Napa Auto Parts. He moved to Soldotna in 2001, where he began working at the Napa Auto Parts store in Kenai.
He enjoyed woodworking and was a lifetime member of the Handyman Club of America.
Mr. Reineking is survived by his daughter, Raschell Mercado of Port Orchard, Wash.; stepson, Larry Staples of Tacoma, Wash.; former spouse, June Nearhoff of Port Orchard; and two grandsons, Andres and Alfonso Mercado Jr., both of Port Orchard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Reineking’s memory to the Peninsula Health Care Foundation, WOW Fund, 250 Hospital Place, Soldotna, AK 99669.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
