DAV to meet

The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5 will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the bingo hall at the American Legion in Kenai. It is open to all veterans.

Run for Women seeks volunteers

Volunteers are needed for the 21st annual Kenai Peninsula Run for Women on Aug. 9. Staff for water tables, serving lunch, and safety positions along the race route are needed.

Safety flaggers will need to take a short safety course at the Kenai Police Department a few days before the run. For more information, call 283-9479.

Free dial gauge testing offered

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will hold free pressure canner dial gauge testing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the office on Kalifornsky Beach Road, in the same building as The Alaska Department of Fish and Game office.

Weighted gauges do not need to be checked. For more information, call 262-5824.
