World Series a blast

Posted: Friday, July 16, 2010

On July 10, Frontier Community Services in conjunction with the Soldotna Little League held the 7th Annual World Series of Baseball played by individuals who experience a disability. It was a truly inspirational day that clearly demonstrated the sense of community that we have here on the Peninsula. There were over 70 players and over 200 people cheering them on.

This event is able to take place because of the generous support received by so many throughout our community. Over 55 individuals and organizations gave their time and their money to make this special day a reality. While it is not reasonable to list here everyone who supported the event, our thanks go out to each and every one of you. This event simply would not happen if it were not for the generosity of the community. The reward you receive for your support is the expression of joy and excitement on the players faces as they get recognized for their abilities rather than their disabilities. This is community at its finest. Thank you! We live in absolutely the greatest community ever.
