July 9 and 1, the Kenai Peninsula 4-H, Central Peninsula Master Gardeners and the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge hosted the authors of "Dragon Flies of Alaska," John Hudson and Bob Armstrong. The workshops at the Refuge and the North Peninsula Recreation Area were well attended by almost 275 curious folks. We had lots of fun learning about Alaska's State Insect and exploring habitat and nature photography. I would like to say a big thank you to the North Peninsula Rec Board for the room use, the Wildlife Refuge for lodging our guests, the Central Peninsula MGs for air fare, the Kenai Peninsula 4-H for air fare, books, and sharing the joy of learining by doing with all that participated. We have a great community here on the Kenai and lots of Dragon Flies to learn about! Thank you all who attended, organized, supported and taught others, hopefully we can work together again to bring educational opportunities to our community.
