Anchorage woman killed in collision

Posted: Monday, July 17, 2000

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage woman was killed in a vehicle accident Saturday night, police said.

Cha Lee, 78, was killed when the car in which she was riding rear-ended a pickup truck at an East Anchorage intersection. Lee did not appear to be wearing a seat belt and hit her head on the windshield, investigators said.

Lee's son, Byung Lee, 50, was driving the car. He was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life threatening.

The collision pushed the pickup into the rear of another car waiting at a traffic light. Occupants of the pickup and second car suffered minor injuries, but didn't require hospitalization, police said.

No citations have been issued, but police said their investigation is continuing.
