FAIRBANKS (AP) A second person has died from injuries suffered Tuesday night in a head-on collision in North Pole.

John Peron, 43, of Fairbanks, was a passenger in a Ford Bronco that crossed the centerline and hit an old ambulance that had been converted to a contractor's truck. He was flown to an Anchorage hospital, where he died from his injuries Wednesday, North Pole police said.

The Bronco's driver, Stephanie Sanders, 31, of North Pole was pronounced dead at the scene on Hurst Road Extension.

Three others were injured, including the other driver, Adam Bjornstad, 29, of Fairbanks.

Bjornstad was the only occupant of the 1982 converted Ford ambulance.

North Pole Police have not identified the other two passengers of the Bronco but said one was from Salcha and the other from North Pole.
