FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A Fairbanks man died Tuesday afternoon in an accident that occurred while he was working on a landscaping project.

Matthew Dulian was pinned between a piece of equipment and a building when Alaska State Troopers and a University of Alaska Fairbanks ambulance responded to 1421 Kent Court at 4:47 p.m.

Dulian was unconscious and not breathing when rescue personnel arrived. Workers at the job site tried without success to resuscitate him.

Troopers said the Bobcat front-end loader was being operated by Dana Mongold, 20, of North Pole when it accidentally struck and pinned Dulian against a wall.

Dulian was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His body was being sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Anchorage for an autopsy. Troopers are continuing their investigation.
