Summer interpretive program under way

Upcoming interpretive programs at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center include Dana Woodward, curator of the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center, talking about "Captain Cook's Journal of the Pacific," on Friday.

As in past summers, the interpretive programs feature science on Mondays, art on Wednesdays and Alaska heritage on Fridays. The programs start at 3 p.m. and will be held in July and August. There is no charge.

Anchorage symphony to hold auditions

The Anchorage Symphony will hold orchestra auditions on Aug. 14 and 15 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Atwood Concert Hall. Auditions are by appointment only, and all instruments are welcome to audition. For more information, call (907) 274-8668.
