Churches host Oilers game

Area churches are sponsoring a baseball game between the Peninsula Oilers and Athletes In Action this evening at 7 at Coral Seymour Memorial Park in Kenai.

Athletes In Action is a sports outreach of Campus Crusade for Christ. The game will feature door prizes and contests between innings. Tickets are available at Good Books and More in Kenai and The Master's Vineyard in Soldotna.

Rainbow Poets to award $5,000

The New Jersey Rainbow Poets will award 50 prizes totaling $5,000 in its religious poetry contest. Included is a grand prize of $1,000.

Evangelist to speak in Kenai

Evangelist Linfield Crowder is scheduled to speak at the Kenai New Life Assembly of God Church, 209 Princess St., at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday.

For 40 years, Crowder has been involved in world evangelism, preaching revivals, crusades, camp meetings, youth camps, ministers' institutes and spiritual-emphasis revivals at Bible colleges.

The ministries have taken him to all 50 states and 60 countries. He is known for preaching on Bible prophecy, science and currents events.

Assembly plans flea market

The Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ is planning a flea market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 26 in the former C&R Auto lot at 44660 Sterling Highway in Soldotna.

The market will include games, crafts, gifts and a bake sale.

Bible study looks to Jerusalem

The Grace Lutheran Church and School will take a look back to Jerusalem during its vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 28 through Aug. 1 at the church on Ciechanski Road one block off Kalifornsky Beach Road.

The Sterling Baptist Church is offering Bible stories, crafts, games, puppets, snacks and prizes during its vacation Bible school for children ages four through 12, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Aug. 4 to 8.
