Former Soldotna resident Jerry L. Wight died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at his home in Hideaway, Texas. He was 62.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 21 at Fairmont Park Baptist Church in League City, Texas, under direction of his family.
Mr. Wight was born May 25, 1943, in San Diego to the late Shirley L. and Toxie L. He was a resident of Alaska for 28 years including Soldotna from 1977 to 1999 and Conroe, Texas, for three years before moving to Hideaway two years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked in the petroleum production industry at Prudhoe Bay and China.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Wight of Hideaway; son, Steven Wight of Hideaway; daughter, Shelley Wight of Hideaway; brothers, Darrel Wight of Pasadena, Texas, and David Wight of Spring, Texas; sisters, Linda Davis of Austin, Texas, and Donna Sue Wight of Houston; and two grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cook Inlet Academy in Soldotna or Lighthouse Christian Academy in Lindale, Texas.
Arrangements were made by Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas.
